About Us

Hello and welcome to our RV blog! We are the Shull family, a community nurse and a soldier, who live for time in the outdoors.  After marrying in 2011, our journey began with tents, then pop-up trailers, and finally a full-size RV.  Our family grew to include a little boy and a sweet dog (and sometimes a BCG a.k.a Blue Car Grandma ). With our 28-foot travel trailer, we spend our time exploring the beauty and diversity of our amazing provinces in Canada.

We started this blog to share our adventures, tips, and tricks with other campers, RV enthusiasts and aspiring travelers. Whether you are looking for advice on travel trailers, the best ways to save money, or humourous stories of our experiences, we have you covered!

Our goal is to inspire you to live your dreams, pursue your passions, and enjoy the freedom and flexibility of RV living. We hope you will join us on our journey and find some useful information and inspiration along the way.

Our Story

We met by chance online and married shortly after my return from Afghanistan. We both had successful careers in the medical and military fields, but we always felt like something was missing. We wanted quality connection time with our family in the wilderness, more adventure, and more fulfillment.

We had always loved camping and traveling, but we never had enough time or money to do it as often as we wanted. We dreamed of buying an RV and hitting the road, but we thought it was too risky, too expensive, and too impractical.

Then, in 2019, everything changed. Like all Canadians and citizens of the world, we faced a series of challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic that made us realize how precious and short life is. We decided to stop putting off our dreams and start living them. We took the plunge and upgraded our setup from a well-loved Viking pop-up trailer to a 28-foot travel trailer and started hitting the road to make some memories. 

We have been exploring our nation ever since, and we have never looked back. We have visited countless parks in Ontario and eastward and met many wonderful people along the way. We have learned so much about ourselves, our country, and our world. We long to travel west. We have made lifelong friends, unforgettable scenery, and priceless experiences. Memories, not mortgages, became our currency, and we only wish for more! Meg and Dylan are active in Scouting, so they have gained a lot of skills and even more memories.

We have also faced some challenges, such as breakdowns, bad weather, and working remotely. But we have learned to overcome them with patience, humor, and creativity. We have grown closer as a family and as individuals. We have discovered new passions, hobbies, and skills. We have found a new sense of purpose, joy, and gratitude.
